Hi Friends!

Well, after being away for so long and missing photography so much, I've decided that I would like to get back into it. We recently had our own family pictures taken and the experience made me want to get back into photography for a few reasons.

1) I love capturing special moments in people's lives

2) I love being creative and always trying to improve my skills

3) I miss meeting people and/or keeping up with old clients

4) I hate that "pro" photographers are charging an arm and a leg for prints/digital files or even an extra person in the picture- RIDICULOUS!

5) I'm updating my equipment so I can't wait to see the difference in the photos

So, if you are needing pictures taken in the near future, I would love it if you would keep me in mind or pass along my name to anyone else you know who needs pictures taken.

AND.... to kick things off, I'm going to start out with a.......

FALL DIGITAL PACKAGE SPECIAL-$120 ($275 value)

-One hour on-location photo session at a location of your choice (as long as it's within 15 miles of 77450, trip fee will be added if beyond that)

-Online gallery of your pictures that will be posted for sharing

-12 digital pictures of your choice that will be fully edited and with full print release

This is a great deal considering my session fee alone is $75! But please book fast because I am only taking clients on a limited basis and my schedule will be booked quickly for holiday portraits.

Lynch Family Portraits

Meet the Lynch family! I had a great time taking their family portraits in Baytown and meeting everyone- they seem like such a fun family with lots of love and FUN! Mom and Dad Lynch are blessed by such a large family, with 3 sons & 1 daughter, their spouses and four grandchildren. I'm sure they're hoping for many more grand-babies to come too :)

I asked if their family did anything "goofy" specifically in their family and this is what came about... gotta love the expressions on the wives' faces... priceless!

Aww... this one touched my heart, such a tender moment between Mom & Son.

I love pictures where you can "feel" what the people are feeling, like emotion is jumping off the photo. I think the next few photos are such great examples of this..

Blue Bonnet Mini Sessions- Brenham

A few weeks ago, I had a blue bonnet mini-session in Brenham right behind a Shell station- go figure! It actually was such a great spot to take pictures, and SAFE! We had a blast there and it was so fun watching the kids go through the beautiful field. I'm going to miss these blue bonnets.. they are just incredible! Take a look...

My little boy is turning TWO in just under a month and we're going to have his party at the Houston Fire Museum. Take a look at the invite I made him..

Blue Bonnet Pictures- Brenham

So, I just have to say that I LOVE these pictures of the Hammer family. This is what Texas wildflowers are all about... and if you haven't been around the hill country lately and you're in Texas, you are missing out! Supposedly it's a record year for blue bonnets in Texas, they are ALL over the place, you can't miss it.

Alison (Mom) and I went to Chappel Hill where we stopped at this random field of blue bonnets. Her children are just beautiful and beaming in these pictures! And not only did I get to take some beautiful pictures of these kiddos but I also made a new friend (one of the best things about being a photographer)! Alison and I got together for a play date after her session and I'm looking forward to many more, what a sweet family!

Susan & Sarah Graduation Pics- City Centre

One of my dearest friends, Susan, is graduating from UH in ONE month and we decided it was time to take some graduation pics to remember this special time in her life. The thing that makes it even MORE great is that she is graduating with her twin sister, Sarah. Both Susan and Sarah are some of the kindest, most loving people I've ever met and I'm so blessed to take their pics for such a special moment in their lives! My little Elijah just adores his auntie "Su Su" and talks about her all the time! :)

Betsy- The Houstonian

This morning I had such a blast with Betsy and her mom, Jen, at the Houstonian! I couldn't wait to come home and start editing these pictures of her, look at cute she is! AND she was the perfect little model, so still and calm (which I'm not used to at ALL because Elijah is quite the opposite but I love him anyway ;)

And seriously... her shoes are WAY cuter than any pair of shoes that I own :)

Mom said she loves photos of her little feet... could this be any cuter with her loving on her new bear?

And I love this shot too! The pink in her dress really comes out next to the pink azaleas.

Firestation Play Date

Today we went to the Sugar Land Firestation #5 and it was such a blast! All the kiddos really enjoyed taking the tour and learning about fire safety (even at such a young age!) Thanks to all the fire fighters, the kiddos were able to all get firemen hats, ride the trucks, and have TONS of fun! Thanks to Alti who organized our group to go, what a great time!! Yesterday I took a road trip with my son to find the perfect spot for blue bonnet pics in Brenham. I drove all the way there, snapped some pics of my son, and came back to my friend's house IN Houston where I happen to find a great little patch right there! Well, no worries because we had a blast road tripping. This son of mine is a little adventurer and has the greatest time discovering new places, like Momma and Dadda!

New Gear- HOORAY!

Maternity Session- Liz & Jesse

Liz & Jesse are dear friends of mine and Mark and they're expecting their baby boy Hudson in just 3 weeks too! We tried to take pics twice and each time it was pouring rain... we decided to just "go for it" this past Monday and Liz & Jesse were troopers, sitting on wet towels and the soaking wet ground!

Support my Friend's Adoption

My sweet friend Kelly and her husband, Matt, are beginning the adoption process. The problem? They don't have $20,000 to do it. The Solution? Raise money.

Mark and I have always wanted to adopt a child too but we know that right now is not the right time. We have other responsibilities that need to be taken care of before we can start the adoption process but I want to help Matt & Kelly change the life of one child in need in our world. They are incredible people who love God and love people. They want to make a difference and they want to shower love to a child who has never known love.

One way that Kelly is trying to raise money is by selling her GORGEOUS prints of France on Etsy. Kelly & Matt are missionaries in Corsica, France right now with their daughter Sadie. She is surrounded by beauty and has captured the most amazing pictures of scenes around her.

Sweet Layla Grace

A few days ago, I found this blog (laylagrace.org) about a sweet two year girl who is literally dying from cancer. I started reading the blog and instantly started weeping. I was at a lost for words and I have never even met this little girl. I can't even imagine what her parents are going through. The thought of my child going through this just KILLS me. They are much stronger than I would ever be.

It made me realize how I've started taking for granted Elijah's well being and that I have forgotten just how blessed we are that we have a healthy child. On one of the blog posts, Layla's mommy writes:

For every time I uttered the words “I just can’t get anything done with these kids under my feet all day” I am eternally regretful. The days that I looked forward to naptime so I could get a grocery list made, or finally fold all the piles of laundry…I regret those days too. If I could do it all again, I’d enjoy EVERY SINGLE WAKING MOMENT I had with her. I would never wish for her to sit still or take a nap or go to bed early. I would never look forward to the days when she could sit through an entire episode of Dora silently. I would treasure every second with her.

These words will stick with me FOREVER. There are honestly days (MANY days) where my attitude looks a lot like that. Her words have changed me, because I am reminded over and over again of what a blessing Elijah is to my life. If you're having a hard day today with your child (and trust me, I know there are many of those days), please read this blog and give your sweet child a hug.

You would think that I would have more pictures of my own child up on my blog but I never get around to actually editing the pics that I have of him. This week I was experimenting with how i wanted to do some Valentine's pics and Elijah was my guinea pig. He didn't actually do what I wanted him to do (which was sit in the wagon and hold a stuffed animal) BUT I absolutely love this picture of him because it totally captures his active spirit. I LOVE this boy to death, he is such a joy and blessing!

Play date at the Childrens Museum

Some of you may know that I have a play group on Meetup.com called Portrait Play dates with Stephanie where I take pictures of the members kids during a play date. A few weeks ago, we had a play date at the Childrens museum in the Med Center and it was a MAD HOUSE in there! Priceless Moments with Mom & Daughter- Molly Orchard Park

The day after Christmas, I met with Marieliz and her sweet daughter, Gaby at Molly Orchard Park. This venue is obviously one of my favorite places to take pictures, but what I especially loved about these pictures was the tenderness and FUN you could see between Mom & Daughter! This made me want to have a daughter of my own... WE SHALL SEE!! hah!

How blessed we are to have such great weather in Houston the past few weeks?! It has really made for some great outdoor sessions like this one at Molly Orchard Park in Memorial. This cutie was all dressed up in her pretty pink dress and even though it was a bit chilly outside, she was a trooper! She's sure going to be a pretty lady when she grows up!

I had a great time with this family at the Japanese Tea Gardens in Hermann Park. My hubby and I had our wedding video shot there so I was eager to go back after 4 years to see what all had changed. The scenery was beautiful but the boys stole the show, look at their gorgeous blue eyes!

This was my first time taking pictures of sisters and it was lots of fun! I can't wait to do more sibling shots. We decided to go for an urban feel with sisters Tabitha and Melody at Town & Country's City Center (which I think was a great spot for what we were going for). The girls' beautiful red hair really makes these pictures POP! Love it!

Pumpkin Patch Portraits- Second Session

Andrew is getting so big now! A few months ago he just took his first steps, now he's all over the place. Such a sweet little boy!

Pumpkin Portraits Play Date- First Session

Check out some of these cutie pies from our first pumpkin patch portrait session at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. We had a great turn out and the weather was gorgeous (which made for great pictures as well!)

How cute is Isabella here in this basket?! We had to improvise since she was so little but I think the basket really made a good prop and that hat is too cute!

This was London's second time at a portrait play date but this time we got some sweet pictures of her and mom. I think she's a natural born model :)

Drew was just two months old and was barely holding his head up, but with the help of his mom, we got some of the best pictures of the day! I can't get enough of these babies!!!

This was my first time meeting Kai and his mommy. We had a great time as they were the first ones there. His sweet little face is just too precious and you can't forget the fussy face ones (those are the best!).

Another family joined us this morning with 18 month old Zachary. He had some great smiles, which you can obviously tell below :)

The last kiddo of the day was sweet, active baby boy Noah. He was on the GO but I was able to get in some really great shots of him.

Portrait Play Date at Molly Pryor Park- August 29, 2009

I had such a blast photographing these cuties for our Portrait at the Park play date. It was such a pleasure to meet all the parents too!

Here is little Zachary, isn't he a cutie? He had such a sweet demeanor and it really showed through the camera!

What a sweet little guy!

Aditya arrived with his proud parents and grandparents. You could tell that he was a very loved baby! His complexion was also so beautiful and made for some great photos!

I LOVE this one of him trying to eat a berry! It is exactly what my own son would do!

Ethan and his parents also joined us for some pictures. They are such a loving family and he reminded me SO much of my little one. His gorgeous blue eyes really capture your heart through these pictures!

Matias was an adorable ball of energy (like my little one!) He loved my red balloon and did not want to let go of it, which was A-OK because it made a great prop!
